The AS3 migration on the studio’s website is finished but as is almost always the case, they need more.  I’m now adding a ton more features and eliminating others that they felt they no longer needed. 

I was hoping that I’d have been able to get more done on this site but alas such is not the case.  I’m still working on my tutorial for dealing with PHP from AS3. 

I also have significantly changed the ContentLoader class.  I apologize to those that are using it and finding little things here and there.  I am reading your e-mails and do continue to work on it.  As soon as I have more time, I’ll get the updated files online.

The AS3 migration for the Fedler Studio site is finished.  I finished the last external swf.  I have a bunch of image work to do for the site’s 13 different galleries but that’s nothing.  That means meetings tomorrow and mass file transfer tomorrow afternoon.  It could always be worse :D  I’ll post links to the final site once I have it all uploaded.

Adobe Labs has provided an update to Flash CS3 that now allows AS3 developers to create Adobe AIR content.  I strongly recommend if you are using AS3 for RIA development that you download the update from Adobe Labs.

I started the work on the new PHP/AS3 tutorial Friday night but with a wedding and helping with Melissa’s move, I am only about 3/4 of the way finished with the post.  I should finish it tonight.

Melissa is on her way to Texas now.   I’m not supposed to leave until November but we’ll see how that goes.  Being away from a spouse for months can be difficult.  Gonna have to keep myself busy to pass all that time.  Oh Boy!

I’m also working on a AS3/PHP Contact Form tutorial. In my usual style, everything is being done from .as files and should be up on the site tonight or tomorrow.

Busy! Busy! Busy!  This is where Actionscript 3 leaves me.

The new language is great but it’s numerous new features (simply from an OOP perspective) have made it possible to not only clean up thousands of lines of code but to also make much more “user friendly” experiences for site visitors.

I just finished cleaning up the Senior division navigation system which looks so much better than the old one.  As a matter of fact, the entire menu system on the Fedler site is 1000 times more responsive and usable than the one I built back in January.  I’m working on the remaining divisions which should be done by the end of today.  The new version of the site should be up and running by the end of the week and then I won’t be so busy anymore….  Saddening really….

I’ve learned more about Actionscript in the last few months than I ever thought possible.  I still have a lot to learn with regards to E4X and the new XML handling as well as the Bitmap/BitmapData classes but I can take my time there.

I think once I have this new navigation system finished and the remaining code migrated to AS3, I’ll finally be able to get around to posting that resume of mine.

Man I’ve been busy!

Managed to unlock 600K and 500 Note streak last night. WOOT!!!

Only 12 More Achievements to go I believe. I’m stoked! I may have a little trouble getting the Jordan achievement….

Managed to pull this one off last night. I downloaded the new My Chemical Romance song pack and managed to pull this one off in like 2 tries with a Full Combo. I think the guys over at Red Octane need to step it up a notch on the next song pack. These ones were a bit too easy.

Another busy day and I’m unbelievably bored.  I’ve been preparing for the move to Texas for the last two weeks and have been setting up actions and Automated routines so that people have a little trouble as possible while taking over some of my job responsibilities and I am finding it makes my job seem dreadfully boring.  I’ve always found it exciting for the most part but when I consider the fact that my job really could be done by a machine…..not exactly a modern day epiphany I’m comfortable with.  What is this world coming to…?
